The numbers here come from Pressure Lab Cycling's own model, derived from openly published cycling research: tire drop and casing deflection tables, independent rolling-resistance and impedance studies, and commonly published weight-distribution figures. It is an estimate of a fast, comfortable pressure — the app knows nothing about your specific rims, tires, valves or how well they're maintained, and it cannot judge whether your components are compatible with each other. Your component manufacturers' limits always win: if a result sits above any stated maximum, lower the pressure or change the setup.
Tubeless and hookless wheels in particular are unforgiving about over-inflation. Exceeding a rim or tire rating can blow the tire off the rim, damaging equipment and causing serious injury. Use your own judgement and ride within spec.
